about

This tune came to me when I was at work in the same order as you hear it……first the instrumental phrase….then robots….then singing. I was rather distracted at work that day as I was very excited by this idea!
The song is a sci-fi story where the female lead betrayed the human race but now is left alone on Earth surrounded by vengeful robots hunting for humans, and pleading to be saved by those she betrayed. The end of the song sounds like the robots found her but if I had the budget to make a video she would be beamed up at the last minute!
The robots were created by talking (not singing) into a Pentagon synth and playing the notes. I was very particular to make these nasty robots sound different from the robot announcer in “Cosmic Invasion“.
My wife, Sharon, sang the female part line by line as she didn’t want much time to practice.

lyrics

WHERE ARE THE HUMANS?
WHERE ARE THE HUMANS?
THEY'RE NOT HERE.
FIND ALL THE HUMANS.

No, don’t leave me,
Only you can save me.
No, don’t leave me.
Coz, if you leave me,
then they will find me.
Coz, if you leave me,
then they’ll find me.

FIND ALL THE HUMANS.
WHERE ARE THE HUMANS?
WHERE ARE THE HUMANS?
THEY'RE NOT HERE.
FIND ALL THE HUMANS.

No, don’t leave me.
No, please save me.
No, don’t leave me.
I’m not asking for pity,
Only for mercy,
You know, if you leave me,
then they’ll find me.

I know
You think that I betrayed you.
I know
This wasn’t what I planned.
I hope
One day you will forgive me,
But today, please understand,
That my life is in your hands.

I’m not looking for pity,
Only for mercy,
From what will become of me
When they find me.
